Featuring: Dr. Brandon Ulrich – Madrigal Chorale – a diverse, multi-generational community of passionate singers
Dr. Brandon Ulrich has been teaching in Rochester Community Schools since 2002, where he currently teaches Choir and Orchestra. In addition to his school duties, he serves as Director of Music Ministries at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Choirmaster at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, and is the Artistic Director for Madrigal Chorale.
He holds degrees from Southern Oregon University and Michigan State University, where he completed the Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting in 2013. Dr. Ulrich frequently presents sessions at conventions, and is called upon as a vocal and instrumental clinician and adjudicator across Michigan. He has served on the MSU College of Music Alumni Board of Directors and the Michigan School Vocal Music Association Executive Board.
His ensembles have performed at the Michigan Music Conference, ACDA State and Central Division Conventions, Michigan Youth Arts Festival, and frequently perform with the Detroit Symphony and the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, in addition to biennial international tours.
Dr. Ulrich is an advocate for new music, establishing both the Stoney Creek Commissioning Project and the Madrigal Chorale Composition Competition, which annually premier several new works. His own compositions and scholarly editions are published through Boosey & Hawkes, MusicSpoke, Colla Voce Music Inc. and Musicatus Press.
