Mark Tisdel, a familiar face around Rochester will be leading us in the National Anthem and singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
A very special feature for our clarinet section is Leroy Anderson’s whimsical “Clarinet Candy” which is a fun tune for four clarinet soloists. RSO Clarinetists Sam Martin, Ryan King and Cassandra O’Brien will be joined by Jon Harrity on this piece.
As always we will honor our veterans and those who serve in all military branches with the popular Armed Forces Salute. We hope that all of our audience members will stand up and be recognized during this meaningful tribute.
Children will be invited to the band shell for an exciting Sousa march and an opportunity to conduct the orchestra.
The orchestra will be playing special selections for the little ones and the young at heart including music from How To Train Your Dragon and Disney Magic which re-visits vintage Disney tunes in a creative medley.
